OUR TEAM

NAOMI RIGGS

Principal and Accredited Specialist

I am a Principal solicitor practicing in Employment and Personal Injury law. I am also an Accredited Specialist. I have been working in personal injury and employment law since 2005. Most clients come to me seeking immediate assistance and are often in a state of financial/emotional distress. My job is to listen and put clients in a situation of control by ensuring they know the law, and they know what I can do to assist. Developing a relationship with my clients involves honest and transparent communication. Clients must be able to trust me so that they can be vulnerable with me. I am dedicated to ensuring that my clients understand the process and progress of their claims and are never left ‘in the dark’.

Outside of the practice of personal injury law, I have a special interest in executive coaching and employment management. This includes negotiating exit strategies, preparation for performance review processes and general strategic advice.

Aside from the relationship I have with my clients, I find that the actual practice of the law is exciting and engaging. Litigation is where I feel most comfortable and in control. I see litigation as a chess game, and I pride myself on thinking 10 steps ahead. I am not afraid to fight for my client’s rights and I am not intimidated by the might of keyboard warriors. Whilst settlement is the preferable option, litigation is often necessary to achieve a viable settlement outcome. Being able to achieve outcomes that create real measurable change for the lives of my clients is a terrific privilege.

Outside of work I have a family of six and my children melt the bulldog in me and make me smile every day. I enjoy exercise and cider in equal portions and have two homes: one in Tasmania on the beach and the other in the hubbub of the city of Melbourne.

HARRIET MCCARTHY

Associate

I am an Associate Solicitor at Mr Wolf Legal, practicing in WorkCover, Comcare, Superannuation, TAC and Employment law matters. After obtaining my law degree at Deakin University, I began my legal career in a boutique law firm in Melbourne where I first worked with Naomi Riggs. In June 2023 I moved to Mr Wolf Legal, where I have continued to develop and expand my legal practice. I pride myself on my pragmatic approach to legal issues and my ability to navigate complex matters. It is a great privilege being a lawyer and I believe that this is reflected in my tenacious approach to my work. My role is multifaceted and one that always involves helping my clients through incredibly difficult circumstances. I am committed to achieving successful outcomes for all of my clients.

In my own time I enjoy a drink at the end of a long day, catching up with friends and family, and spending time with my partner and our dog Frankie.

CARMEN COLEIRO

Senior Legal Assistant

I am a senior legal assistant to Naomi Riggs, Principal Solicitor and Accredited Specialist and specialize in personal injury matters. I have worked in the area of personal injury for plaintiff firms for over 40 years and I find this area of law exciting and fulfilling.

It is important to me to establish a rapport with clients and provide them with the attention, service and support they may require as their matter navigates through the respective legal processes.

In my own time, I enjoy a glass of good wine, exploring different cuisines, spending time with family and friend and planning my next vacation destination.

KRYSTAL DASS

Solicitor

MW_Staff_TEAM-K_BW.jpg

I am a solicitor practising in WorkCover and employment law. My interest in this area began at a young age, when a close family member was injured at work. That experience gave me an early understanding of the significant and lasting impact that workplace injury and work insecurity can have on individuals and their families. It was this personal insight that inspired me to pursue a career in law. I love that my job is intellectually stimulating and genuinely meaningful, and I take great pride in helping clients navigate difficult and often life-changing circumstances.

While litigation was once an aspect of law that scared me, I now find it challenging and exciting.

Outside of work I love trying new restaurants/bars with family and friends, going to the gym and unwinding at the beach with a good book.

SARAH BLACK

Legal Assistant

I am a legal assistant to Harriet McCarthy. My role involves providing support to Harriet, the team at large, and to our clients. My focus is to develop a strong rapport with our clients and provide them with reliable assistance so that they can feel supported.

I appreciate that our clients are experiencing some challenge or difficulty, and I see my role as working with our clients to make things easier. I try and take the time to listen and make sure that the legal work required is performed in a timely manner. I have a degree in criminology and psychology and many of the skills I learnt in this degree I bring to my work here at Mr Wolf Legal.

When I am not at work I will either be out with friends, with my partner or spending time with my family and my poodle Louis.
